Crevecoeur

In Letter’s from an American Farmer, Crevecoeur writes that America is new and exceptional. Crevecoeur states “we are the most perfect society now existing in the world. Here man is free like he ought to be” Crevecoeur wrote this because America hadn't been corrupted by the ways in which Europe had, this was the land where you worked for yourself and provided for your family, where you are free to live the way you want. This statement makes individuals believe that there is freedom, possibilities and great achievements to be made in America.
Today there is still encouragement of endless possibilities and the freedom within America. TV reality shows such as America's Got Talent influence and provoke individuals to go on these shows to achieve their dreams. This relates to Crevecoeur because it represents the freedom to choose your own destiny by making your dreams come true.
